About

No, this is not a clone version of the Coach Ken (www.coachken.com.my) you already know. I am the same Coach Ken. So why coachken360 you may ask – reason being I notice apart from helping seniors from the baby-boomer generation, where wellness is very rare back then, I would like to spread a very important discovery/concept of difference between longer life span vs healthy life span; hoping for younger generations start getting healthier to enjoy a fuller life.

Born in Malaysia, to be exact – Chinese maternity hospital back in 1973. Migrated to Singapore with family when I am only 7 yrs old. Enjoyed my education and life in Singapore till I finish my GCE ‘O” levels.

Many people till today ask why I chose to come back when I can only reply being bored back then after staying more than a decade in Singapore. With many of the negative comments of Singapore; If I am given a choice today, I would still migrate once again simply because I am a man who love (used to) law and order although it can be rigid. This is the character I would still bring to my workplace till today when I tell my clients “Be prepared, for my expectation on your progress are greater than your personal expectation….lol”

After returning to Malaysia, I started attending my ‘A’ Levels however landed up in Vietnam instead of some university. Dad has been a timber grader his whole life and naturally spent lots of time in countries where forestry is in abundance. During the next 2 years, it was more fun than work, traveling in that region namely Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and sometimes China. Dad business was fantastic till early nineties when logging business deteriorated badly.

Being a sensible kid, I told dad I am not going to be a burden to his company and decided to get a job back in Malaysia. Life adventure began when I landed my first job as a salesperson selling some I.T software for a basic salary of RM850. Oh, I do not own a car at that point and traveled around using Malaysia’s legendary minibus!!! Those who have never traveled on a minibus – you definitely missed out on lots of fun. Especially during rainy days, can you imagine you are packed in the bus like sardines!! You do not need to depend on holding on to bars etc. to prevent from falling, it is so pack that it is impossible to fall. Not to mention when it rains, all windows are up and there is no Aircon in them. Its stuffy and all you can smell is body odor. Oh, once awhile you may be lucky to smell Chanel No. 5

Being in and out of various industries, medical aesthetics, fitness, ladies fashion to name a few. It was a span of twenty odd years, and I decided enough is enough. I have dreams but without a vehicle. At that point in life, the only way out is to work for myself, to build the dream I have for myself instead of building someone else dreams – my bosses.

2015 was a fantastic year for me. It is this year when I am finally married (yup a little old but not too late) with my wife Wennie. It was also the same year when I got out of employment and got myself certified as a Personal Trainer (CPT). Several commercial gyms gave me positions for personal trainer but declined all of it. What is the point of escaping corporates and joining a gym? Instead, I registered my company and yes, I am officially self-employed. Early into this business, I registered myself with some service portals like Kaotim and servishero. I got some jobs from there and was practically working day and night. Most of my clients are in the age group of 30 to 40 and they are working adults thus sessions are either in the morning or evenings…that is what I meant working day and night.

Transition to coaching only senior citizens happened at a coincidence. One day one of my friends who is sixty plus years old suffered a stroke and I went over to help him with all the knowledge I have, and after a few short weeks, he began walking better. This is him in the video (attached video here).

Following this incident, I just felt that helping or coaching the seniors is my calling and thereby decided to get myself certified as a biomechanics, senior citizen trainer and precision nutritionist.

Ever since then, I have been committed to help as many senior citizens as I can – hoping to get them through their golden years fit, strong and most importantly independent.

Journey just started.
